Position Title:

Bridge Engineer - Railroad Bridges

Accountable to:

Bridge Department Manager

Primary Responsibility:

Railroad Bridge Engineer

Qualifications:

Candidate must have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in of bridge engineering design with an emphasis on railroad bridges. Candidate must be a registered professional engineer and be able to obtain registration in Colorado. Experience working with Union Pacific Railroad or Burlington Northern Railroad is required. Experience with Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), local City and County agencies and RTD a plus. A strong knowledge of AREMA Manuals for Railway Engineering, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, as well as design standards for these clients is required.

Duties:

The candidate will be responsible for the following:
1) Designing bridges for railroad loads.
2) Assist with marketing and proposals for railroad companies.
3) Performing design calculations.
4) Coordinating work of technical support staff.

Additional requirements include proficiency in bridge design software, including: Aashtoware Virtis/Opis, Leap Software-ConSpan, and RC Pier, Sap 2000 or similar software.
