Environmental planning and compliance can play
an important role in projects that require environmental clearance.
JFSA's environmental division
is comprised of specialists in the NEPA process, public relations,
media relations, biology, wetlands, landscape architecture,
water quality, socioeconomics, GIS, and graphics. All staff
members have successfully applied NEPA regulations and guidelines
to secure project clearance for design and construction.
An immediate benefit to projects that
require permitting is the way our environmental staff and
engineers collaborate before meeting the client to explore
solutions when permitting problems arise. Options can be considered
and informed decisions made after consultation with our environmental
and engineering staff.
Public acceptance of a project often precedes
agency approval. Our environmental staff recognizes the importance
of actively engaging the public, and works with the client
to develop and implement an effective public participation
program.
JFSA has a wealth of expertise in corridor
studies for public utilities and highway projects. We excel
in conducting site selection studies for smaller projects
that require environmental clearance. For the US Highway 40
project, our environmental and engineering staff worked together
to develop the design criteria for sediment basins, lynx crossings,
and wetlands mitigation. Identification of environmental issues
early in the project led to cost-effective solutions.
At JFSA environmental and engineering
considerations are handled seamlessly during project development.
